Penn McKee Hotel
Opened in 1926, the Penn McKee Hotel was the place for all important events. V.I.P. guests inluded Amelia Earhart, who stayed there when visiting her friend, McKeesport Aviatrix Helen Richey, and Harry S. Truman. In 1947, then-congressmen Richard M. Nixon and John F. Kennedy held a debate of the Taft-Hartley labor act in the ballroom.
